The game is on again – at last! For months, restaurants, hotels and bars were closed on account of the pandemic.

 


Now the skies are finally beginning to brighten for the catering industry, bringing big smiles to the faces of the staff in luxury hotel & spa Schloss Seefels and the Estyria catering team. At last we can welcome guests again – and once again provide our customary support to one of our top customers, Seefels.

Richard Hessl, Seefels’ head chef, is an avid supporter of Steirerkraft products and sets great store by their consistent premium quality and regionality, using them not only in the 5-star hotel, but also in the hotel restaurant – which is proud recipient of 3 Gault Millau toques and 3 Falstaff forks. Hessl, who puts his heart and soul into his work, enjoys pampering guests with Steirerkraft’s pumpkin seed oil, scarlet runner beans, pumpkin seeds and polenta.

Seefels and Steirerkraft – two top players in their respective fields – now look forward to pampering discerning diners once again!

Traditional Styrian
stamp press process

While modernity has brought progress in many areas, the traditional Styrian stamp press process is still the best way of making pumpkin seed oil. The main difference between this and other pressing methods is that we work with open roasting pans. At our plant, people check when the pumpkin seeds are perfectly roasted and so will yield the very best oil. This enables our experienced oil millers to produce the pumpkin seed oil that has won more prizes than any other – and which as a result of this type of pressing retains all the natural constituents. The untreated oil is not filtered; the particles that make it cloudy settle naturally when the oil is left to rest.
