Working hand in hand to make our world a better place
Estyria takes a further step towards sustainability: in 2022, we’ll be one of the first companies to become voluntary members of the Alliance for Development and Climate.
The human race currently faces a global climate crisis. And it’s a crisis we’ve brought upon ourselves. All of us are now called upon to transition to renewable energy sources and adopt a consistent “avoid, reduce, compensate” approach to greenhouse gases.
Many people feel overwhelmed by the complexity of this task and by sheer information overload. In order to maintain a clear overview and evaluate the facts correctly, we need to find reliable data sources that explain the facts in plain English.
In our quest for carbon neutrality, we here at Estyria Naturprodukte GmbH have achieved our first goals. Firstly, we’ve made consistent efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. Not only have we transitioned to green energy across the board, but we also now offset our remaining emissions by supporting certified projects (member of the Alliance for Development and Climate).
With effect from 01.01.2022, our company will be certified carbon neutral (CCF, Scope 3), as will our brands Steirerkraft and Mutter Natur (PCF). Moreover, we’re continuing our efforts to further reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, thus playing our part in making our world a better place for everyone to live.

Traditional Styrian
stamp press process
While modernity has brought progress in many areas, the traditional Styrian stamp press process is still the best way of making pumpkin seed oil. The main difference between this and other pressing methods is that we work with open roasting pans. At our plant, people check when the pumpkin seeds are perfectly roasted and so will yield the very best oil. This enables our experienced oil millers to produce the pumpkin seed oil that has won more prizes than any other – and which as a result of this type of pressing retains all the natural constituents. The untreated oil is not filtered; the particles that make it cloudy settle naturally when the oil is left to rest.
