The Steirerkraft pumpkin seed has joined the premier league of spermidine-rich foods. That doesn’t just sound like a sensation – it is one.

The finding is as topical as it is sensational: Steirerkraft pumpkin seeds not only provide valuable polyunsaturated fatty acids and important vitamins but are also a real fountain of youth! Healthy eating and high-quality foods have been at the heart of Estyria’s vision for years.


Soya beans are classed as particularly high in spermidine. Following on from this, Steirerkraft’s bosses had the company’s scarlet runner beans and premium products analysed in a major year-long project, and this is what they found: it is not the expected scarlet runner beans but Steirerkraft pumpkin seeds that, with a spermidine content of 104 mg per kilo, are a real spermidine wonder. Eleven studies in accredited laboratories have provided impressive confirmation of the results.

Traditional Styrian
stamp press process

While modernity has brought progress in many areas, the traditional Styrian stamp press process is still the best way of making pumpkin seed oil. The main difference between this and other pressing methods is that we work with open roasting pans. At our plant, people check when the pumpkin seeds are perfectly roasted and so will yield the very best oil. This enables our experienced oil millers to produce the pumpkin seed oil that has won more prizes than any other – and which as a result of this type of pressing retains all the natural constituents. The untreated oil is not filtered; the particles that make it cloudy settle naturally when the oil is left to rest.
