New products from Steirerkraft and Wertvoll

Just in time for the pumpkin seed harvest, we introduce our new, handy 10 ml portion pots of Steirerkraft pumpkin seed oil. Also, for the catering industry, we now offer Wertvoll organic pumpkin seed oil in 500 ml bottles and Austrian-grown Wertvoll organic amaranth in 500 g packs.

Only the best Styrian pumpkin seed oil PGI is used for the individual portions. Specially selected pumpkin seeds from the certified PGI growing areas are carefully pressed to produce Styrian pumpkin seed oil PGI. The outstanding features of the top-quality and multi-award-winning Steirerkraft pumpkin seed oil PGI are its thick consistency, rich, dark green colour and unmistakeable delicate, nutty flavour. Pumpkin seed oil can be used in many different ways, for example it goes perfectly with various different kinds of salad and is ideal for flavouring soups and desserts, including vanilla ice cream.

The Styrian pumpkin seed oil PGI in the useful 10 ml pots is particularly suitable for use in restaurants and other catering establishments. Unlike when customers serve themselves from larger pumpkin seed oil bottles, the number and cost of these handy portion pots can be calculated in advance, minimising consumption and the cost of sales. Furthermore, turnover is boosted by the higher mark-up. The customer also benefits – these small portions ensure that they always have just the right amount of pumpkin seed oil for their salad and it is always fresh.

We also now offer Wertvoll organic amaranth in a 500 g pack and Wertvoll organic pumpkin seed oil in a 500 ml bottle in our catering range. Amaranth is a valuable source of protein and fibre that is naturally gluten-free and is perfect for enhancing both sweet and savoury dishes. Wertvoll organic amaranth is 100% grown in Austria. The pumpkin seed oil from Wertvoll is the finest pumpkin seed oil from inspected European organic farms and is an excellent addition to the extensive product range under the Wertvoll brand.

Traditional Styrian
stamp press process

While modernity has brought progress in many areas, the traditional Styrian stamp press process is still the best way of making pumpkin seed oil. The main difference between this and other pressing methods is that we work with open roasting pans. At our plant, people check when the pumpkin seeds are perfectly roasted and so will yield the very best oil. This enables our experienced oil millers to produce the pumpkin seed oil that has won more prizes than any other – and which as a result of this type of pressing retains all the natural constituents. The untreated oil is not filtered; the particles that make it cloudy settle naturally when the oil is left to rest.
